In-house training for our vets

During the pandemic we adapted the in-house training program for our vets and vet nurses from face-to-face to digital, this continued into 2021 as lockdowns and restrictions remained in place.

Expanding our remote learning options in this way meant more flexibility for our busy and stretched clinical teams to be able to fit their study in. Staff were able to develop and grow their skills despite the demands and restrictions of the pandemic, and the content of courses was able to be tailored for the unique challenges being faced, such as diagnosing and handling cases remotely.  

Our own experienced PDSA vets write and deliver the in-house training content, meaning the expertise of our staff can be shared with colleagues and used across our entire network of 48 Pet Hospitals. 

A survey of our newly graduated vets found that 92% have used knowledge and skills gained from these courses at least once a week. 92% also said that the courses helped them to improve patient care and provide improved treatment options.
