PDSA 2020 People's Postcode Lottery Impact Report

PDSA is a veterinary charity that helps pets and people in need.

For over 100 years we have provided veterinary care to the pets of the nation's most vulnerable people; the sick, the elderly, those living in poverty and the unemployed. For hundreds of thousands of UK pets and their loving owners, we are a vital lifeline.

The veterinary teams in our 48 Pet Hospitals, located in areas of high deprivation to reach those most in need, provide free and reduced-cost veterinary treatment for eligible owners. In 2020 we supported around 388,000 pets.

PDSA's plans for 2020 had to change rapidly because of Covid-19. But the virus hasn't stopped pets getting sick or injured. Thanks to this year's £2.4 million support from players of People's Postcode Lottery, PDSA has been able to adapt rapidly to national and local lockdowns and the ongoing impacts and restrictions of the pandemic. Thanks to you, we've been able to continue working towards our ambition for every pet to enjoy a lifetime of wellbeing, free from unnecessary suffering.

In 2020 PDSA were able to proivde 594,048 remote consultations, 15,032 emergency operations, 52,000 face-to-face appointments, provide 72,607 children with learning materials, reached 3 million unique visitors to our pet health hub
