PDSA Pet Insurance Policies
It's important to choose the Pet Insurance cover that's right for you. PDSA Pet Insurance offers a range of policies to suit your pet's needs and your budget.
Like humans, our pets are more likely to be affected by illness as they get older. This means that every year your insurance premium will increase even if you haven't made a claim. This increase can be significant if you have claimed.

Lifetime policies
If you choose Lifetime cover, your pet will be covered up to the amount you select each year, which is the overall limit for all accidents and illnesses combined. If this limit is reached, no further cover is provided until your renewal date, when the limit is reinstated and you can start to claim again. Your pet will also be covered for life for any long term or lifelong conditions, providing your premiums are kept up to date, the insurer offers renewal and you renew your policy every 12 months. These policies tend to cost more than 12 month policies due to the lifelong cover option and are useful if you want to avoid the risk of ongoing costs of long term illnesses.

12 month policies
If you choose 12 month cover, your pet will only be covered for veterinary fees resulting from each accident or illnesses up to the amount you choose, or up to a maximum of 12 months from the first symptoms shown (whichever comes first). After either limit has been reached, no further cover will be provided for that condition or any related issues and will be excluded from your policy. These policies tend to be cheaper than Lifetime policies and may be beneficial to you, if you are looking to cover short term illnesses and sudden accidents.
