Unprecedented times

That's the message that is coming through loud and clear from across the world. The pandemic that is sweeping the globe has meant many changes for us all. In these uncertain times, we wanted to reassure you that we're doing everything in our power to continue providing emergency, life-saving treatment for sick and injured pets.

Difficult decisions

The welfare of our pet patients, clients, volunteers and staff remains our top priority.  We’re doing our very best to keep all of our Pet Hospitals open and running, but due to the pandemic, we’ve already had to restrict treatment to emergencies only, and we have had no choice but to pause all non-essential services. We have also had to take the difficult decision to temporarily close all of our PDSA Retail Shops.

We receive no government funding, but because of the generosity of our pet-loving supporters at the moment no owner will be left facing the heart breaking decision to leave their pet in pain because they can’t afford treatment.

How you can help

We need you to please stand by us more than ever in the coming months – together we will save lives. When there is nowhere else to turn we want to be there to help pets in need and don’t want any pets to suffer due to financial hardship.

Advice from our vets

We also understand that people have questions about how best to look after their pets at this difficult time.  With people self–isolating, working from home or social distancing, the companionship that pets bring becomes more important than ever. We have therefore created lots of useful advice, guidance and Q&As on our website to support all pet owners during this crisis, which you might find useful to read or share with others.

Staying in touch

As well as being committed to continuing our life-saving work; we are also committed to keep you updated on our progress during this challenging time. As the situation continues to move quickly, so will we. We are still available on the phone (0300 3737 224), on our website or via email (Customer.service@pdsa.org.uk) if you have any questions or feel able to help us further in any way you can.

We hope you and your loved ones – both human and furry – stay safe in this troubling time.
