Charity workers take on Rough Run for poorly pets

19 July 2018

A team of PDSA charity workers from Sunderland are gearing up for a ‘Rough Runner’ obstacle course on 22 July to raise funds for poorly pets.

The team will be taking on the Chester Le Street challenge, consisting of epic obstacles alongside a 10K run, in aid of PDSA.

The animal-mad bunch all work at our National Customer Service Centre in Sunderland. With ages ranging from 21 to 58 they are running to mark our 100th birthday and hope to raise £1,000 for pets in need.

Jill Candler, Contact Centre Agent, who will running as part of the team, said: “We’re extremely passionate about PDSA and want to contribute as much as we can. We see the huge effect that PDSA has on the lives of pets and their owners every day. Pets shouldn’t have to suffer because their owners find themselves in financial hardships, and for thousands of owners, PDSA means that they are able to keep their beloved pets, who enrich their lives and provide unconditional love and companionship.”

With a tough training programme in place to ensure they are in ship-shape for the event, the fundraisers are hoping that local animal lovers will support their challenge.
