Tonkinese are naturally curious and fairly active, requiring lots of toys to keep them amused. They can be talkative but not overly loud, and usually bond strongly with people, often happy to sit on your lap. They seem to prefer being low down rather than high up.

Tonkinese are not known to have any hereditary health issues, and are seemingly a healthy breed.

Coat care:

As short-haired cats, Tonkinese shouldn’t need much in the way of grooming. They like to keep themselves clean, and their coats aren’t prone to matting. A weekly groom should be sufficient to keep their coat in good condition.
