Peter with Blitz and Bryn

In memory of

Peter Chapman

1945 - 2020

In loving memory of Peter Chapman

Peter was a lover of all animals, great and small. In fact, he preferred animals over people most of the time as they had no choice but to listen to his stories.
During his lifetime Peter had numerous dogs, from Newfoundland’s to chihuahuas. He would often arrive home from work with small birds in his pockets, which had fallen from nests and he would spend days nursing them back to health. Other rescues included voles, seagulls, pigeons, mice, hedgehogs and stray dogs.

Peter was also a huge lover of the family “pets” which included over the years fish, hamsters, mice, rats and a horse or “the big daft sod” as he would refer to Meine after the odd crushed foot.

Peter would have spent his last penny on helping any animal, without hesitation. He would be happy to know that his family and friends were donating on his behalf to such a worthwhile cause.

Love and big thanks to all,

The Chapmans

SADLY and greatly missed. the ripples of PETERS passing are still sweeping through his MANY friends and members of his railway family. I will miss hearing my mate's MANY tale's, but in the peace and quiet of life I can still hear peters voice. Everybody on the railway knew PETER and most of them have listened to PETER, { compulsory, but if you are reading this then you already know that }. new starters on the railway never knew if PETER was pulling their leg or was he being serious. I think sometimes PETER himself was not sure. PETER is the last of the RAILWAY GENTLEMEN, working class men who would go out of their way to help and give advice to young and not so young colleagues. PETERS now gone { as railwaymen say } to the BIG RAILWAY SHED in the sky, oh boy are they in for a shock.

Pete,
You were not only my Brother-in-Law but my friend.
I will miss your stories and your sense of humour.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, Unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
