Five signs you’re a pet mum

by PDSA | 29 February #Lifestyle

With Mother’s Day almost upon us, we’re celebrating all the pet mums out there. Whether you’re a cat mum, dog mum or a mum to bunnies, pets are family and the bond we share with our furry friends is special. We’re so lucky to be able to share our lives with our precious furry companions.

If you’ve ever wondered if you are truly a pet mum, then you’ve come to the right place. Check out these five signs that are sure to indicate your pet mum status.

1. Your pet eats better than you

You always buy your pet’s favourite food as they won’t settle for less. As a proud pet mum, you also make sure that you feed them on time – but they will certainly let you know if you’re even a second out.

On special occasions, you whip up homemade treat recipes, such as delicious pumpkin cookies. Your furry friend definitely eats better than you! If this is the case, then you are a bonafide pet mum.

2. You don’t move, even if you’re uncomfortable

Every pet mum knows that it’s a privilege for your pet to sit on your lap or lay next to you. Even if you start to get uncomfortable – you refuse to move and disturb your pet. If this sounds like you, then you are definitely a pet mum.

3. You’re happy to show pics of your pet to anyone

Like a good doting pet mum, you love to show off precious pics of your beloved pet to everyone. And why not? The world deserves to see adorable pics of your furry companion. This is a clear sign that you are indeed a pet mum (if you didn’t realise it already).

4. You have conversations with your pet

There’s nothing more satisfying than talking to your furry friend and having them respond. Whether it’s a bark or a meow, you love to hear your pet talk to you. If you have full-on conversations with them, then you are definitely a pet mum and should embrace it.

5. Your social life involves your pet

Whether it’s working your social calendar around your companion or simply bringing them along to events, you are definitely a pet mum if your social life involves your furry friend. And why shouldn’t it? They are an adorable member of your family, and there’s nothing wrong with planning your social life around your pet. Just make sure that they are happy and comfortable, wherever you take them.
